Jesse disappears. David was from Nash Co., NC, a son of James Woodard. David Woodard had a sister, Keziah who married John Massingale & he died by 1805, so his children are the heirs in the will abstract below. David Woodard's children were: Mary, Drucilla, Noah, Martha, Henry & Jesse. Their mother was Elizabeth Braswell. All of this is proved by records. Interestingly Reddick Massingale was in Itawamba County on the 1840 census, spelled Rederick Massangale @ ancestry.com. I think Jesse is David's son because of the name similarities, age, the NC birth, and possibly because of Reddick Massingale, who is his aunt's brother in law.

MASSENGALE, MASSY
P. 265.
