Seems like it was just yesterday that you were running away from home!
Happy Birthday, Rebekah!

Happy Birthday, Rebekah! Thanks for two recalls of little boys running away. . . . 1st, Ron, my husband, threatened to run away when he was about 3 or 4 - so while he was out playing in the yard, his mother packed a little suitcase and set it out on the front porch with his favorite bedtime toy tucked in the handle. I don't recall what led him to change his mind. . .
When our youngest son was a baby and I had taken him for a check-up, the two older boys - like 7 & 6 - got mad at their grandmother and they found their cowboy bandanas and created a knapsack to put some cookies and crackers in, and told their grandmother they were going back to their grandmother's in Indiana and walked down the street. There was an empty house at the end of the block and they went around to the back and sat on the door threshold, eating this "hobo lunch" when I returned and found them. Oh, my goodness, that was over 49 years ago!
