One of my favorite photographs. This snapshot was taken on the drive between Wilkesboro and Happy Valley in North Carolina. The Millses left the Yadkin River Valley around 1800-1810 to cross over the Appalachian Mountains into Tennessee. They just traded one set of mountains for another, although I have to say this is one of the loveliest spots on earth that they left behind.Wednesday, December 10, 2008
Yadkin River Valley in North Carolina
