Minnie Lou Johnson Beam with baby
Minnie Lou Johnson was married to Elbert Edgar Beam on March 20, 1904 by Bro. J. L. Conwill. A record of their marriage is on file in Marriage Book 12, Page 288, at the Itawamba County courthouse.
You may be familiar with the name of Edgar and Minnie's great-grandson, Don Dulaney, chief provider of many of the old photographs that appear on this blog. Samuel Carl, son of Edgar and Minnie, was Don's grandfather. Don, do you know who the baby is in this picture?
Minnie was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Johnson and Laura Elizabeth Jamerson, and the granddaughter of Henry Ellis Johnson and Sarah Ingle. Her husband, Edgar, was the son of Samuel Thomas Beam and Nancy Jane Cromeans. Below are a couple of census records for Edgar, Minnie and their family.

Mona, Thank you so much for the post. My mom will really enjoy it. I am sorry I do not know who the baby is. I do know that Minnie Lou was well loved by the whole family. Can you spell out how Minnie is connected to your husband?
Thanks, Don. I should have noted the connection in the post. Minnie Lou and Fisher Johnson, Mike's great-grandfather, were first cousins. That makes you and Mike fifth cousins on the Johnson side and first cousins on the Dulaney side! I bet there are some more "sides" to find!
At what point do "we" become "one of those 1st, 2nd, 3rd" times removed cousins? Now, that's when the fun begins. I just call "all of 'em" "kissin' kin" and let it go at that!!
Don, just remember you don't gain an extra "kin folk" when Mona finds more ways than one to count how you are kin to Mike. LOL bettye
Mona, Mom said that the baby is Minnie Lou's son Meardy Beam's son Charles Beam's Son or Daughter. Not sure which. but sure its one of them.
